If only the Persimmon Group could show as much consideration to the health and well being of thier unfortunate customers. Residents on our estate talk of the effects on their health of Charles Church customer service and quality of workmanship - and the long drawn out process to get these issues resolved.

It has taken us years to get the smallest progress, and likely we will have to be moved out for remedial work. It's likely to be at least 5 years before our house is ready for occupation and us to move back in . . . it should have been finished and ready for sale when we bought it and moved in over 4 years ago.

The unnecessary inconvenience, stress and anxiety they have caused, and continue to cause to us is a disgrace. With a little thought and attention to detail, and we feel some integrity and professionalism, they could have easily avoided this for years - saving both them and us time and money, and specifically our health and well being.

If your thinking of buying a new home from Charles Church or Persimmon Homes (both trading divisions of the Persimmon Group plc) you may want to check out this website in advance http://www.thelindenmethod.co.uk/ so you can be more prepared and better able to look after your health should you experience a similar ordeal to us.

Also to get a flavour for what you may be letting yourself into if you decide to buy a new home from Charles Church or Persimmon Homes in the UK, http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/2010/05/new_homes.html.

Clearly 'UnhappyCustomer' is not alone with their problems, there are mnay others.

The problem with tackling the poor performance of Persimmon / Charles Church is that home owners are rightly concerned about the impact on the value of their property through bringing to the attention of others some of the problems they have experienced. As a direct result little appears to be done, on the various sites where there are or have been problems. Persimmon / Charles Church appear to work on the principle of 'divide and conquer'. Indeed where there may have been legal proceedings against Persimmon these appear to be settled out of court, with 'gagging' orders, as a result little appears in the public domain.

So what can we do about the poor performance during construction and the 'after care' service? The reality, I think, is very little as individuals, it is only when we act collectively that we will get Persimmon / Charles Church actually to act.
